The Extra Coarse Hone (70 Grit Alumina-Oxide) is a heavy-duty sharpening accessory designed for use with the Lansky® Sharpening System. It is intended for aggressive edge repair and reshaping, making it ideal for restoring blades that are heavily chipped, damaged, or extremely dull.
With its 70 grit extra-coarse alumina-oxide surface, this hone removes material quickly to re-establish a working edge or completely reprofile a blade bevel when necessary. It is typically used as the first step in a full sharpening progression before moving on to medium and fine hones.
The ergonomic plastic housing provides a secure grip during use, while the threaded brass insert ensures a stable and reliable connection to the Lansky system’s guide rod and thumb screw assembly.
